What are cannabinoids?

A cannabinoid is defined as any chemical substance that joins the cannabinoid receptors of the body and brain. Studies have shown that the cannabis plant produces between 80 and 100 different cannabinoids. The two most common cannabinoids produced are delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). There are three categories that cannabinoids could fall under recreational, medicinal, and synthetic.

What is Cannabidiol (CBD)?

Cannabidiol is a cannabinoid that comes from hemp or marijuana plants. Studies have shown CBD to have numerous health benefits for adults, children, and even pets. CBD is an entirely different cannabinoid than THC, which means no high, just health.

Is CBD organic?

CBD is a naturally occurring cannabinoid. It can be sourced from organically grown hemp plants, which would qualify a CBD product as “organic”. Our products are sourced from organically grown, USA Hemp. 

What are the recommended dosages of CBD?

We advise customers to start with a single serving (typically 25-50mg) daily and then assess their personal response from there. This has anecdotally been the best way for customers to gauge their own response to a product and decide what works best for their own unique endocannabinoid system. 

How to store CBD?

CBD should be stored in a cool, dry, dark place. Sunlight is the main factor for degrading CBD content in products. 

How to use CBD tinctures?

Taking a tincture sublingually, under the tongue, has shown in studies to improve absorption and bioavailability of CBD products. Typically taking one serving and allowing 60 seconds to pass, then swallowing, has been the most effective way users report using the tincture. 

Does consuming CBD show up on a drug test?

CBD products, by law, contain >.3% THC. However, all bodies respond differently to taking CBD products. There have been outlier cases where consumers test positive with a standard drug test for cannabis when taking CBD products. When tested for THC specifically though, most of the results show the original test was triggered by cannabinoids, not THC specifically. We recommend letting your employer know you are supplementing with CBD, and if drug tested, may require additional testing to prove you are using completely legal supplements. 

Are there any side effects of CBD?

Some of the most common negative side effects of CBD reported by users is increased drowsiness (due to the relaxing anti-anxiety effect CBD produces in some people) and upset stomach. If you experience negative side effects, we recommend you stop using and talk to your doctor. 

Can I buy CBD products in a state where Marijuana is illegal for medicinal or recreational use?

Yes, CBD is not derived from the marijuana plant. CBD is derived from the hemp plant which is legal to grow and sell products derived from in all 50 states.

What is your return policy?

To complete your return, we require a receipt, invoice number from plantmd.com, or other proof of purchase directly from PlantMD. We encourage but do not compel our retail outlets to provide the same guarantee. If you have purchased your product from a retail location, please address your concerns directly with that retail outlet.

Refunds: 

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund or other. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. In the alternative, you may request a ‘store credit’ at plantmd.com. 

Shipping: 

We usually ship within 24 business hours of receiving your order and always within 48 business hours of receiving your order. Please allow for extra time for fulfillment on weekends and Holidays. Transit time from that point is determined by the method of delivery chosen at checkout. 

Return Shipping: 

We recommend that you consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item. 

Late or missing refunds: 

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. 

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next, contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.
